I have been looking for something to replace my ProV 1 as I only play once a week or less depending on the weather on Mondays.I still like to see the ball do what it is supposed to when it is hit correctly but I am not going on tour any time soon and this ball checks all the boxes.I think it might be a little more forgiving but I personally don’t lose much on the trade off. When I hit it correctly I usually poke these about 250-275 yards (of course further on hot dry conditions) which is fine for a bogey golfer such as myself. The feel around the green is slightly hotter I’d say. But approach shots seem more accurate.

If your T shots with your driver produces even the slightest fade or slice this is the ball for you. Hard enough that you will see less side spin. Really you should find a way to get rid of your slice or blocks because that simply means your clubface is open at impact. But if you’re not looking to fix that, I recommend this ball. I was cutting across the ball slightly with my driver just enough to force me to miss fairways on the right but this ball eliminated that just enough to allow me to hit more fairways.

For amateur golfers who want value in a golf ball but don’t want to spend over $40+ a dozen, the Callaway Warbird is a good bet. For less than half the price of a Pro V1 you don’t need to feel guilty spending more than the 3 minutes golf etiquette allows for searching the rough for an errant drive. And, for those drives that find the fairway…the Warbird provides the feel and distance the more expensive balls are known for.

Good balls for the right price

These Calloway golf balls fly well with good distance. The yellow can be a bit difficult to see on fairways in the fall and winter that the grass has gone into hibernation and turned pale yellow.
